The actual polytunnel was set up by the orginal group of Eco Warrior's and it has been producing vegetables since June 2010. This year (2011-2012) our volunteers have now started to develope this outside area adjacent to the polytunnel that is known as Area 51.
Rob Barclay, Jasper Church, from Norwich House, Kingsley Zhu and Harry Burgess both Sheffield House, all are growing DILL'S ATLANTIC GIANT pumpkins. These are the grand-daddy of all the giant pumpkins. The present days record, form this variety is an amazing 15 cwt., so we are all hoping for big things to come.
Runner Beans these are better known as 'Stangenbohne' to these three warrior's "Maximilian Graf, Bernhard Lippe, and Vincent Grunwald" all German students who have opted to start our crop off this year.
Two more members of our group Max Barnes (Centre) and Felix Lohse (Right) together with a visitor Katrina. This years group still retains two members of the original group Christian and Jasper. The scheme has also provided a base for much needed work experience for senior members of the group.
