To my surprise and delight we received a Piolet d'Or in Chamonix/Courmayeur in April this year for our sailing and climbing expedition to Greenland in 2010. This is probably the most prestigious award of the mountaineering world. I had a very excellent climbing team you understand!

You may also be amused at the thought of this 75 year old Scottish 'priest' (we were in a Catholic country at the time) dancing and singing 'What shall we do with the drunken sailor' with the 'Wild Bunch' (my crew) by special request of the Mayor (I think) in the main suare of Courmayeur with the Italian mountain guides grouped behind in their traditional dress and hats. All part of the presentations and celebrations!
