Alan Emberson

We are saddened to learn of the death of Alan Emberson. Alan used to teach maths, lead the DoE scheme and drive the mini bus.

I remember Alan Emberson from my time at Kingham Hill (1983-1988) and was sorry to hear about his passing, I first found out about his death last year as me and some of the Old Boys have been in contact with him on Facebook and have also written some comments on his Facebook profile with our tributes.

Such a great teacher and will be sadly missed!!

Alan and I go back to the late 80's. He joined the school as Head of Maths shortly after I was appointed as Chemistry teacher. Her certainly woke up the maths department and I cannot forget his lively and humorous nature together with his enthusiastic teaching. We both sang in the choir mainly under the direction of Terry Mann. Together with Elizabeth, to whom I extend my sympathy, they became a huge part of Kingham Hill life. The staff room was never dull when Alan was around. I am very saddened by the news. Alan Read Science Dept 1987-2009
