Leo Stanton1966 - 2007

Leo arrived at Kingham Hill School in 1978 and went into Plymouth House. In 1979 he moved to Clyde, his senior house. He went on to become Head Boy and Head of the CCF in 1984 - his A level year.

Immediately after school Leo joined the Army and went off to Sandhurst. After a year of training he 'passed out' and joined the Royal Engineers. Shortly thereafter he studied at the Military University at Shrivenham where he obtained an engineering degree. He later did an MA

Leo was actively involved in the first Gulf War and upon his return to the UK he married Carol.

It was on his return from Honeymoon that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease.

After undergoing rigorous treatment he beat this and returned to the Army.

Leo and Carol's much longed for son, Baxter, was born (a miracle boy) on the 15th March 2006.

In 2005 Leo was struck by leukaemia which was successfully treated with a bone marrow transplant.

Since January 2007 Leo has been fighting GVHD (relating to the transplant).

Leo passed away on Monday 27th August.

Leo's funeral was held at Tudeley Village Church near Tonbridge, Kent on Wednesday 12th September.
