At the Foundation Art Academy, Drapanos, Crete, Greece. Gareth D Adeney MA (Kingham Hill O/B 1978 – 1983) has established a course designed for undergraduate art students, potential Foundation Course art students, gap-year students and adults ( perhaps on sabbatical ) seeking the opportunity to create artwork / release artistic potential under guidance and direction.
In the sublime location of ancient olive groves, is an inspiring example of sustainable principles in practice – the Eco Sustainability Academy building that houses the art studio facility the students enjoy. This makes it the perfect setting for quiet reflection on the creative process and amassing works.

On Sunday 2nd June, a group of KHS Old Boys who live in the East Anglia region met for a lunch reunion at the White Horse Inn in Whepstead. It was a wonderful opportunity for members of the Kingham Hill community to come together, renew acquaintes and form new friendships over a pint of Suffolk ale and some excellent food.

When HM The Queen pulled out of the Commonwealth Service in March due to ill health, Kingham Hill pupil and specially chosen posy giver, Danika Quick, was disappointed. The first Thursday of the term saw the infamous Kingham Mass take place. All students run the cross-country course and everyone’s position carries points. The House with the highest point’s average wins. The senior team have won this trophy for the last two years so the pressure was on them to attain the hatrick. Last year Nikita Cretu came in second place and so he was out to further improve on this and gain top spot if possible. A number of staff enter for fun and Sheffield tutor Mr Elliott stormed over the line in first place, as usual…

Being about to take off for the Arctic again reminds me that I never reported on last year's expedition!
Basically it was successful. I had a group of hard South African climbers on board Dodo's Delight. Three of them helped sail the boat across the Atlantic from Scotland which this time was unusually benign. This may have been just as well as two of them had not sailed before! Then came the long trek, or motor in the lack of wind, up the west coast of Greenland to Upernavik about two thirds of the way up that long coastline.

On Thursday 2nd May Rotterdam rugby cub visited Kingham Hill School and Chipping Norton Rugby Club. Roger Arthur, who is a Kingham Hill old boy, is now a coach at the Rotterdam club and so it was important to make links with them.
